Cutremur de 5,9 grade în Khūy, Iran
Un cutremur cu magnitudinea 5,9 (MW) s-a produs sâmbătă, 28 ianuarie 2023, la ora 20:14 (ora României), la 3,3 km E de Rahāl, Provincia Azerbaidjanul de Vest, Iran. Hipocentrul a fost localizat la 15 km adâncime, ceea ce îl face un cutremur superficial.
Resimțit de majoritatea oamenilor din zonă; pagube ușoare sunt posibile la clădirile vulnerabile.
Ultimul cutremur cel puțin la fel de puternic în Iran a avut loc pe 2 iulie 2022 (6,0), adică acum 6 luni. Este al 2-lea cutremur de cel puțin 5 grade din Iran în 2023.
Potrivit USGS, 31 de persoane au raportat că au simțit cutremurul.
