Un cutremur cu magnitudinea 7,1 (MWW) s-a produs luni, 24 aprilie 2023, la ora 03:41 (ora României), în Kermadec Islands, New Zealand. Hipocentrul a fost localizat la 47 km adâncime, ceea ce îl face un cutremur superficial.
Poate produce distrugeri grave pe suprafețe mari.
Potrivit USGS, 3 persoane au raportat că au simțit cutremurul.
